Rules

Welcome To The DSPN Madden League

Here are some rules to play by, We want to play as close as to the NFL as we can. ( I know sometimes the NFL does some stupid crap and that’s fine there but here try and stick to sim)

* FREE AGENTS – We will open up free agents in week two, We will make a draft list once we kick off and ask the owners in order for their picks…

RULES

1) Owners – Please respect all owners at all times, I know things boil up and get out of hand. So please let us know what’s up with a problem and we will handle it as best as we can. Sometimes it will work in favor and sometimes it will not.

2) Play Calling – Use your book as best as u can, doing the same play out of different formations is not sim, I know there are new features in madden and we want to use them so let’s be as sim as we can.

3)  Trades – All trades will be looked at by the front office, we want to keep it as real as we can so no BS trading, two trades a season and two in the off-season. That gives you four a year.

4) RUNNING UP THE SCORE – Is not tolerated in this SIM league. We want everybody to have fun, and you can score as much points as you can within the confines of a game while it’s in the balance, but what we don’t want is poor sportsmanship. Once you’ve gotten to the 2 minute warning of the 4th quarter and you’re up by 17+ points with the ball, the game is basically over. The following would fall under this rule.
a. If you are up by 17+ points with less than 2 minutes left to go in the game and you have the ball, the game is basically over. At this point, only running plays or qb kneels with chew clock on are acceptable
b. If you have the ball and throw a pass for more than 25 yards downfield, that is poor sportsmanship
c. Fake punts or fake field goals, whether they are in attempts to score or go for more yards is poor sportsmanship and is not tolerated
d. If you are up 35+ points going into the 4th, you should run the ball or not throw passes downfield pass 20 yards in attempt to run up the score.
e. If your opponent has no time outs left, and has no way of winning the game with under 1 minute left in the game and your up by more than 1 possession, you are to run the ball or kneel down only.

5)  PLAYING CPU
I KNOW WE DON’T JOIN THESE LEAGUES TO PLAY CPU, BUT SOMETIMES TEAMS ARE HARDER TO FILL AND TAKE MORE TIME SO WITH THAT BEING SAID HERE IS THE RULES IN THAT INSTANCE.

A. User CPU
1) You get 1 chance to beat the CPU (If you cannot win, then the game will be a sim. THERE IS NO MORE FORCED W, EITHER PLAY OR TAKE A SIM NO MORE FREE SHIT EARN IT)
2) You may not beat the CPU by more than 35 points
3) You may not run the score up on the CPU (75-55 is ILLEGAL) this rule will be enforced if commissioners think the score was ran up.
4) You may not focus on certain players during CPU games. (One receiver may not have 300 yards receiving) Violation will result in 2 game suspension for said player(s)

6) STREAMING GAMES – You are not required to stream your game but may do so if you like.

7) RESTARTING GAMES – You are not allowed to restart a CPU game. Restarting a CPU game for any reason, including because you are losing or because a key player is injured, is considered cheating.

8) QUITTING GAMES – Quitting any type of game (user-vs-user or user-vs-CPU) is not allowed.

9) DISCONNECTIONS – Occasionally, for reasons out of your control you may be inadvertently disconnected from your game because of a loss of internet connection or an error with the PlayStation network. This should only occur very infrequently and will not be accepted as an excuse for quitting games if it happens frequently.

10)  GLITCH PLAYS – EA Sports does well at continuously releasing patches to Madden that eliminate glitches in the game that when taken advantage of can give one player an unfair advantage. However, the commissioners may ban specific formation-play or even formation-play-hot route combinations if necessary.
